Silke - Physiotherapist, Deckhand and Ms. Captain

Dutchy and lover of water and nature

Physiotherapist, beginner yogi, curious of the ocean

Hi! My name is Silke and I love sailing with my captain Brend. Fun fact, me and Brend met at a sailing camp. Him being my first sailing instructor! A few years later we fell in love and the rest is history!

I'm someone who tends to overthink things, how small or big it may be. I analyze the risk and what might go wrong instead of what might go well. That's why sometimes there is a lack of spontaneity or I might think that some risks are too big. During this adventure I put myself and Brend at risk. Which is exciting, nerve wrecking and out of my comfort zone at the same time. Brend and I love living and sailing together, so why not combine the two? Cheers to our adventure with our floating home!

Brend - Chef, DIY-er and Mr. Captain

Born in the Netherlands and loves sailing and cooking.

Sail instructor, master degree in hospitality, loves to explore cultures

My name is Brend and I love sailing. As a child I used to sail with my dad almost every weekend. I always have had a passion for food. During internships in Belgium, Australia, Indonesia and Africa I developed my interest in other cultures, their way of living and especially their food.

Late 20's I experienced a prisoned feeling. As if I was captured in the way I was conditioned by myself doing what seems 'normal'. This feeling resulted in a strong need of finding out what I really want to do. I love sailing, traveling, develop skills I don't have and do things I have not done before. These are the perfect ingredients to realize the dream to sail across the Atlantic Ocean. I never thought that it would become this serious. But I keep telling myself: “Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do."
